It's always a good day when we have the opportunity to share our story. It's a stellar day when the audience is engaged and young at heart! Thank you to director Kathy Barnett for inviting us to present about the services we offer and volunteer opportunities available to the seniors who take advantage of the array of programs offered at the Hansford Senior Center in St. Albans.
This is a community center for adults that started in 1980 as only a senior nutrition site - but not anymore! These days, the facility is bustling with activity and opportunity for the over-60 set. "Today, the center is a great place to meet friends, take a computer class in our well-equipped computer lab, take one of three types of exercise classes, sing, hear a guest speaker, be a guest speaker, play Wii, dance, and much more. We offer daily activities, a meal at 12 noon each day, health and wellness education, connection with social service assistance, and referral services. A much needed service in the community is met by our transportation for seniors and those with disabilities."
This gem of a resource in the heart of St. Albans is open from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. To learn more, contact them by calling 304-722-4621.
