For Billy, getting to his medical appointments is a matter of life and breath.
Billy has been an active FIAGKV care receiver since August 2015. Referred to us by his doctors at Cabin Creek Health, Billy was having great difficulty finding reliable transportation from his Clendenin home to his medical appointments throughout the Valley.
His solution? Cancel them.
Unfortunately, this wasn't the best plan, as Billy suffers from congestive heart failure and has significant breathing problems.
Fortunately, Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley was able to help. We've been getting Billy to and from his medical appointments for nearly a year now, and he is pretty grateful about that.
"My personal experience with the program has been great. The volunteers are always very pleasant. They make it possible for me to get to appointments that are important to my health, but that I couldn't otherwise get to."
It's why we're here. Meeting good people like Billy in the process is just a happy bonus.
