Iva lives outside the city limits and no longer drives. "I was starting to cancel a lot of appointments because I was feeling anxious about driving to them myself. I've had some of my doctors for a long time, but I was ready to give them all up. I didn't know what else to do."
A social services agency referred her to Faith in Action, but even then, she was doubtful. "I just didn't think there was anyone out there who could help me. Now that I've found them, my anxiety is eased a great deal. I've been able to keep my doctors, and that's just something wonderful," she notes.
"The volunteers are so sweet to me. The ones I've had have worked out great. They don't make me feel embarrassed at all; they are helpful and it really puts me at ease."
